Building upon the success of the Huawei Band 9, which was introduced in the country in January this year, the new fitness tracker from the China-based OEM is expected to offer features central to emotional wellbeing management, along with stress monitoring and improved sleep analysis.

Acer has unveiled the Acer FreeSense Ring at the Computex 2025 conference in Taipei. Acer's first-ever health-tracking smart ring comes in two different colour options and seven sizes. The Acer FreeSense Ring features a Titanium alloy build and comes equipped with multiple biometric sensors to monitor heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and sleep patterns.

Urban Genesis smartwatch has been launched in India with a 1.45-inch circular AMOLED display. It was introduced in the country on Thursday and comes with a full-metal body, a stainless steel block strap as well as two functional buttons. Garmin Forerunner 970 smartwatch was launched in the US on Thursday alongside the Forerunner 570 variant. They boast circular OLED touch-supported displays and are available in a 47mm size. The Garmin Forerunner 570 model comes in an additional, more compact 42mm option. Both newly-launched watches are equipped with pulse oximeters and skin temperature sensors.

Apple is said to be developing a new feature for Vision Pro to enable easy navigation across the user interface (UI). Samsung on Wednesday announced the integration of Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, into its lineup of wearables. Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds 3 series users will soon be able to leverage the AI assistant for setting up reminders, summarising texts, getting weather updates, and other activities that the AI bot previously allowed on phones. With this move, the company expands the presence of AI features across all devices in the Galaxy ecosystem.

Meta explored adding facial recognition to its smart glasses, allowing users to identify nearby individuals, according to a report. This opt-in feature raises privacy concerns, as people whose faces would be scanned wouldn't be offered a choice. While current Ray-Ban Meta glasses use an LED to indicate recording, it's unclear if facial recognition would have a similar indicator.

According to a report, One UI 8 will introduce Gemini Actions on not just the Samsung Galaxy Watch but other Wear OS-powered smartwatches too, which may be leveraged to get responses to general queries, summarise emails, and more. The automation and task management capabilities which Gemini supports on smartphones are said to come to smartwatches with Samsung's next iteration of its watch firmware.

Apple is said to have seen a significant decline in the demand for its smartwatches in most regions. As per a market research firm, 2024 was the second consecutive year where Apple Watch shipments declined by a striking margin. One of the most notable areas where shipments fell is North America, the Cupertino-based tech giant’s home turf. This is attributed to the lack of new models, as well as minimal upgrades made to the existing lineup in the last year.

Sony's WH-1000XM6 headphones are likely to be unveiled soon. The Sony WH-1000XM5 successor is expected to launch at a higher price point than the existing model. Ahead of anything official, key features of the wireless headset have surfaced online. Previously, the headphones were spotted on the FCC certification site.
