According to a report by Counterpoint Research, global smartwatch shipments fell 2 percent YoY in Q1 2025, marking the fifth straight quarterly decline, driven by slowing demand in India and reduced Apple shipments. Question What’s Real (QWR), an Indian deep-tech startup, unveiled Humbl, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart glasses, on Thursday. The startup claims that Humbl is the first made in India AI smart glasses, and offers features similar to the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. The Indian version is said to come equipped with an AI assistant that can record videos, summarise conversations, play music, help with navigation, and more.

Meta announced the roll out of Zoom’s standalone app on Tuesday. The app will allow users to be present during video conferences as their virtual avatars. According to the app’s listing on Meta’s website, Zoom’s standalone app will function with any paid or free Zoom license. This is in line with Zoom’s recent push to expand its presence in the virtual reality space. Zoom’s CEO, in June 2024, reportedly said that he wants AI clones in meetings.
