BSNL has launched the Satellite Phone in India at Rs. 1,34,166 to provide connectivity in areas without conventional mobile network coverage. The Inmarsat-based handset supports satellite voice calls and SMS services and is aimed at defence, maritime operations, disaster response, mining, remote operations, and adventure travel. It also offers an SOS emergency feature, a rugged design, and a long-lasting battery.
