Google Pay announced a new rewards programme for its Flex co-branded credit card in India on Wednesday. As part of the changes, users can now take advantage of higher savings on everyday spending. There are also additional benefits for eligible Google One members. The Flex credit card, notably, is issued in partnership with Axis Bank and SBI Card. It offers rewards in the form of Stars, which can then be redeemed against eligible Flex payments within Google Pay or used to get discounts on gift vouchers.
Google has launched Gemini 4 Argon globally for developers and enterprises. It comes with an introductory price of $2 (roughly Rs. 190) per million input tokens and $10 (roughly Rs. 900) per million output tokens. Cached input tokens are available at a 95 percent discount. The new model is available via the Gemini API. Google AI subscribers can access it in Google Antigravity, the Gemini app, and AI Mode in Search.
Google launched the Fitbit Edge on Monday as the company’s latest fitness tracker. The Mountain View-based tech giant says its new offering combines the lightweight form factor of a fitness band with typical smartwatch features. Unlike the recently introduced Fitbit Air, which was a screenless tracker, the Fitbit Edge sports a 1.34-inch AMOLED screen with always-on display functionality. It also gets built-in GPS and a range of health and fitness tracking sensors. The Fitbit Edge is claimed to offer up to seven days of battery life.
Google Fitbit Edge will launch on October 12. The new fitness tracker is expected to sit between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5 in Google's device lineup. The Fitbit Air-like fitness band is rumoured to feature an AMOLED display and built-in GPS. It could offer Gemini-powered personalised coaching. It will reportedly offer up to seven days of battery life on a single charge.
Google has expanded access to its SynthID Detector, allowing users to check digital media for invisible watermarks associated with AI-generated content. The tool was previously aimed at media professionals but is now available globally in English. It supports watermarks created by Google and participating AI companies, including OpenAI, Nvidia and Kakao, with Apple support coming soon. Google introduced SynthID in 2023 and says it has watermarked more than 180 billion images and videos, as well as 240,000 years' worth of audio.

Anthropic has launched Claude for Google Workspace in public beta, bringing the AI assistant to Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. The new add-on places Claude alongside an open file and lets users edit text, work with spreadsheet data and create slides. Anthropic has also introduced connectors that let users create or edit Google files from Claude's chat. Users can approve individual changes or allow Claude to apply them automatically. Google has increased the price of the Pixel 10a in India and global markets. The handset was launched earlier this year as the latest affordable entry point into the Pixel 10 lineup. Further, the Google Fitbit Edge is shown to feature a pill-shaped display. Users will be able to receive notifications and alerts on their wrists. It is said to ship with similar features to the Fitbit Charge series.
Google is initially testing Gemini 4 Argon with cybersecurity professionals through its Fairwind Program. The model has a 1-million-token output limit, compared with 64,000 previously, and Google reports scores of 77.9 percent on DeepSWE v1.1 and 91.7 percent on LVBench. Argon has also been used internally for projects involving quantum computing and codebase migrations. In cybersecurity testing, it scored 68 percent on CWE-bench v1. Google plans to expand access after testing its safeguards for potential misuse.
Google Fitbit Air has been launched in India, the company announced on Wednesday. This comes weeks after the company showcased its first screen-less fitness tracker in India during the Made by Google event on August 13. The new fitness tracker will go on sale in the country on October 2. The Google Fitbit Air will be offered in four colour options, namely Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog. The company is also offering a three-month trial of Google Health Premium to provide access to Google Health Coach tools and features. Customers can avail a cashback of Rs. 1,000 with select HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cards.

Moreover, the Google Pixel 11a is shown to feature an LED flash next to the camera island. On the front, it could sport a flat display, surrounded by relatively thick bezels. A centred hole-punch display cutout appears at the top of the screen, which might house the selfie camera. The power button and volume controls could be placed on the right side of the phone. Meanwhile, a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and a microphone cutout appear on the bottom.

Google's Android Dev Summit returns on October 28 to October 29, 2026, after a four-year gap. The event will cover Android 18. Gmail is rolling out a Copy code button for two-factor authentication emails. The new feature is available on both Android and iOS. The update is said to be appearing in Gmail for Android version 2026.09.07.x and Gmail for iOS version 6.0.260907. It is currently not available in Gmail on the web. The pill-shaped Copy code button is shown under the subject line alongside the email preview.
Google’s Gemini model reportedly accessed the internet and hacked other companies during a test of its cybersecurity capabilities. The incidents happened during cybersecurity testing by Irregular. In one case, Gemini guessed passwords until it gained access; in the other two, it found credentials in a public repository. Google chose not to publicly disclose the hacks, claiming that no harm was caused to the target companies.

Dell XPS Googlebook name has been spotted in the Product Carbon Footprint report for September 2026 on the company's website with the model number DX13267, seemingly confirming that Dell's first Googlebook model will be launched soon in select global markets as part of the XPS laptop lineup. Apart from this, the Product Carbon Footprint report also reveals that the Dell XPS Googlebook will be equipped with a 13.4-inch display. The laptop will also weigh about 1.1kg and have a product lifetime of four years.
Google has fixed an issue that affected a limited number of Google Pixel phones. The company said that there are “indications that CVE-2026-58704 may be under limited, targeted exploitation”. The attackers used a vulnerability related to the cellular modem that granted remote access to the Pixel phones. “In the cellular modem, there is a possible permission bypass due to a logic error in the code”, according to the recently issued advisory warning users. The zero-click exploit does not require Google Pixel phone users to take any action.

Google has rolled out a new Android transfer system that lets compatible password managers exchange passwords and passkeys directly.
